While working in the composing and design departments at Metroland Media my responsiblilites were: 

• Worked closely with advertising sales reps to elicit requirements.

• Produced ads and spreads using InDesign/ Illustrator.

• Designed and laid out newspaper special section pages. Worked with regular newspaper pages using InDesign.

• Retrieving digital files from e-mail, FTP& network file servers.

• Preflight of incoming artwork using Pitstop and Acrobat Pro for correct specifications.

• Checked final newspaper pages for ads assembled and page completeness.

• Sent press-ready PDF page files via network file servers.

• Various page, file and spreadsheet handling for shipment to third parties.

• Responsible for ensuring all files were sent on time and procedures were followed.

• Performed Intranet maintenance.

• Created original Vector Illustrations.

• Photo editing and manipulation of stock images, illustrations, client photos and web graphics
